The Exhaustion and Psychological Damage of Being Black in America

Being a black man or woman in America is the absolute most exhausting journey any person can embark upon in their life. That lifetime walk in the shoes of people of color ultimately feels like it can end one's life psychologically, and emotionally just due to the level of stress and anxiety it causes trying to live meticulously and flawlessly to avoid encounters and instances with the police.

If you ask any black man or woman in America, do you experience a fight or flight response when you see the cops when they are behind you in traffic, or simply in your plain sight, how they felt? They would probably respond to you saying, I feel weird and tense on the inside because I have no clue or earthly idea what they may do to me is a pretty accurate response that you would get from over two-thirds of African Americans or people of color. This is scary statistics right but hey, this is the reality and the plight of the black man and woman living in America.

The plight isn't new, however; in that it has existed for centuries ever since African people were brought here to this nation as slaves, brainwashed and having the concept and teaching of the Willy Lynch perspective embedded in the core of their souls and existence. The number that has been done on the African American people and culture is psychologically damaging, creating a lifelong domino effect of post-traumatic stress disorder that has existed for generations and currently still exists, intensified by Jim Crow, Segregation, and the same police brutality and institutionalized lynching we see cops and law enforcement officers administering to black people daily here in America.

When will the institutionalized lynching of African Americans and people of color end? When will real police reform be implemented and not just talked about and discussed on the Senate and House floors of American politics in Washington D.C. and political committees and chambers around the nation? When will the findings of the 1968 Kerner Commission be taken seriously and analysis of the reports from the commission be enacted and implemented? When will the findings of Nikole Hannah-Jones 1619 Project be taken as a serious matter and not marginalized to silence the woos and evils of America's history that still exists today? What will America become if she doesn't change the narrative of bigotry, hatred, and evil towards people of color? The choice is yours America, how will history and God judge and remember the narrative this nation has created? However, the choice is African Americans and people of color because we will no longer stand for this evil, hatred, and bigotry that America has forced fed us.
