Where Do We Stand As a Nation?
We sit here a month after the general election with Joe Biden and
Kamala Harris now the president and vice-president elect of the United States
of America, and with most Americans and the rest of the world wondering when
will Donald Trump get that he has lost and there is no turning back time or
removing legally cast ballots.
The miss-information warfare and democratically destructive rhetoric did not just start now but has taken place during this entire administration but escalated months leading up to the election. To be exact it started back in 2016 when then candidate Trump ran in the 2016 election, making the claim if he lost the election had to be rigged.
However, Trump did not lose the 2016
election but instead defeated Hillary Clinton in the electoral college but losing
the popular vote. Fast forward four
years later, Trump has ramped up the rhetoric knowing he was going to lose this
election, particularly due to his bigot, and racist rhetoric.
Trump has shown the world and the American
people he has no ability to lead the nation but instead has only being equipped
to lead a cult like group of people. The
president has been unable and hasn’t shown any
attempts to denounce racism and White supremacy amongst his supporters and
base. His silence on police violence of
people of color and complete failure of the Coronavirus Pandemic was the
kickback this president should have seen coming from the American people.
Across the nation voters were galvanized,
fire up, and ready to vote Trump out of office after a four year wait of
political purgatory it felt for so many Americans. When will this chaotic divisive
administration end was the energy and cry from so many Americans, while half of
the nation still screamed and yelled out, “hail Trump, make America great again?”
Two
different America we are currently
living, a scary America it feels like, an America on edge, an America
that feels as if it could be on the brink of a Civil War with Trump forcing the
claim to his constituents daily that the election has been stolen from him.
Who is to say, such rhetoric hasn’t breaded the next Oklahoma City like bomber amongst us or even worse? With the nation divided as it is, where do we stand, where do we go from here, and how do we actually make America the great nation that it could possibly be with the great diversity that exists here?
