Americans Need Honest Politicians
Why are members of the House and Senate serving the people of the United States of America 20, 30, and 40 years, decades and what seems almost like lifetime appointments. Why not have terms for these individuals as we do the president of the United States? Does it not make sense to have members of the House have a term limit of 6 terms and the Senate 2 term limit, equaling the term limit a president can serve, which is two terms equaling 8 years?
With a 6-term
limit for the House, we are looking at maximum amount of service of 12 years
and the Senate a maximum service years of 12 as well. This would be smart and fair for All
Americans and any person looking to serve their nation and its people, suppose
to a dictatorship like years of service, much like what we see in many nations
around the world where dictators serve for 20, 30, 40 years, and a lifetime.
This is what is wrong with America, this right here,
leaders serving too many years. These leaders are dragging along old ideas,
objectives, and agendas that they had in mind at their initial initiation into Congress
and many that are influenced by lobbyist and other big donors who have their
own missions and objectives in mind to change laws and statutes that could
benefit their ventures.
This is
America and American politics, a business it seems run by money and those who
have plenty of it. One does not have to
run for office to have laws and statues changed, just money to have the laws
changed and swayed his or her way. To
end the corruption in Washington D.C. in our nation capital we must implement
these mandatory term limits and completely put an end to the lobbying efforts
in American politics in order to uphold the nation’s constitution and laws.
Is it not fair
and does it not make sense for the next generation and every generation to have
their chance to serve in Congress, shaping, and re-shaping America, making it a
better nation then what they met it?
This has not been the case and generations of potential great leaders
are have been marginalized. We often
have one or two generations that take over Congress and keep it in their
stronghold, often time making it a family business and affair for decades at a
time. It is time for change to take
place and the implementation of term limit instituted in the United States,
starting with Congress, the House and Senate and throughout state and city
governments as well.
